  • 4-6 large tomatoes or 2x300g cans whole peeled tomatoes

  • 130g tomato paste

  • 1 red onion

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 fresh chilli or 1 tsp chilli powder

  • 2 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tbsp Italian herbs

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp rapadura sugar (optional - to reduce acidity)

Chili Bowl

  1. Chop the tomatoes and in a blender, pulse briefly until they are small bits.

  2. Chop the onion; deseed and chop the chilli, if using.

  3. Sauté the onions in a little water, until soft.

  4. Stir in the remaining ingredients and add a little more water.

  5. Simmer for approximately 45-60 minutes, until the tomatoes cook down and sauce thickens.
